  • Chiropractic is a regulated primary healthcare profession. Chiropractors are trained to diagnose, treat, manage and prevent disorders of the musculoskeletal system (bones, joints, and muscles), as well as the effects these disorders can have on the nervous system and general health. These conditions include back pain, neck pain, sciatica, shoulder pain, arthritis, knee pain, and even headaches and migraines.

They have a specialist interest in neck and back pain but when assessing patients, take the patient’s entire physical, emotional and social wellbeing into account.

Chiropractors will work with you to identify the root cause of your pain/dysfunction and put in place a plan of care to get you back enjoying life as quickly as possible.

  • McTimoney chiropractic is a gentle method of adjusting the bones in the body to improve alignment of the skeleton. It is well known for being a precise, whole body approach to chiropractic care.

A gentle technique which relies on speed and precision to make adjustments rather than force, making it beneficial for all ages. It is designed to help the nervous system to work more efficiently, realign and rebalance the body to relieve pain and discomfort and help increase mobility.

More information on the McTimoney Method can be found at the McTimoney Chiropractic Association: www.mctimoney-chiropractic.org

  • When normal movement and function are affected, and left untreated, the body’s entire wellbeing and quality of life will be impacted. Chiropractic treatment can be used to help:

    • Alleviate pain from an injury

    • Poor posture

    • Maintenance of the body for everyday use.

    • Preventative measures - such as for athletes and physical workers.

Although the core fundamentals of Chiropractic focus on the spine and pelvis, it can be used to aid the healing in any area of the musculoskeletal system.

Chiropractic care may be used regularly to help maintain good posture, promote health and improve performance, no matter what it is you do, from a high performance athlete to a senior member of the community enjoying a potter in the garden. Patients undergoing chiropractic care often report benefits from:

    • Ankle sprain (short term management)

    • Cramp

    • Elbow pain and tennis elbow

    • Headache arising from the neck

    • Inability to relax

    • Joint pains including hip and knee pain from osteoarthritis

    • General, acute and chronic back pain

    • Generalised aches and pains

    • Mechanical neck pain (as opposed to neck pain following injury i.e. whiplash)

    • Migraine prevention

    • Minor sports injuries

    • Muscle spasms

    • Plantar fasciitis

    • Rotator cuff injuries, disease or disorders

    • Sciatica

    • Shoulder complaints (dysfunction, disorders and pain)

    • Soft tissue disorders of the shoulder
